STEM to STEAM—By Mnemosyne (BY "M") was founded in 2013 as an independent practice, by Danelle Marqui Brown, during her graduate studies at Harvard. Her intention was to bridge the creative gaps between the arts, sciences, and business, for the benefit of industries and society. According to each projects' scope of work, when necessary, collaborative teams of experts, creatives, and enthusiast are curated to render clients' needs to life. For example, one project may require the underwater film artistry of a skilled filmmaker, while another project may need an expert builder, or a medical scientist.
Danelle M. Brown is an interdisciplinary creative, a strategist, and a historian of science, medicine, culture, and industry. She holds a Master of Liberal Arts degree, with a concentration in the history of science, technology and medicine, from the Harvard Extension School (HES); a professional certificate in Religious Studies and Education through a partnership with the Harvard Divinity School (HDS) and HES; and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, with a concentration in interior design and sustainability, from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). With over 15 years of experience, Danelle has been a creative and strategist for several leading communications and branding agencies (e.g. Edelman, Jack Morton Worldwide, and the Seventh Art Group); worked on accounts in various sectors such as architecture, beauty, fashion, consumer goods, education, events, film, food, non-profits, real estate, and tech; and created 500+ pitch and presentation decks for Fortune 500 clients, C-level executives, pioneering start-ups, legacy brands, and initiatives. She has been a catalyst for account wins, sponsorship, investments, and product /experience launches.
She is also a former certified birth doula through DONA International and a current member of the New York Academy of Medicine. Danelle has served as a youth mentor for The Global STEM Alliance, an ambassador for the New York Academy of Sciences, and sits on The Music & Health Clinic Steering Committee for The Louis Armstrong Center for Music & Medicine. Danelle's graduate thesis research at Harvard focused on the intersections between education, innovation, cultural inclusion, trade and economies. It earned a Director's Prize for Outstanding ALM Thesis in the Social Sciences. She regards herself as a creative, STEMinist, and advocate for humanity.
